Hey mate just having a bit more of a look at your pics and it is great to see some common sense come into river crossings. All too often I see people just charging into the water only to find them stuck. Just a couple of things I see that you stated that you can still drive the Jardine River although not recommended. It is actually an offence to attempt to driver the Jardine now. Also putting the tarp across the bonnet of the petrol is a great ideat for long deep crossings. The other thing that you can do if you want a bit extra protection is to actually remove the fan belt as I have actually seen water still get up into the engine bay and with the fan turning it can still throw water all over the electrics or even pull the fan blades forward and send them into the radiator destroying the radiator. Just food for thought.

When did you do the OLT. The blog says July 2009. We were up there in September 2009 which means that you probably would have had a bit more water to contend with in the river crossings. When we went there was only a couple of crossings that came up near my mates bonnet in his Landrover Discovery. Did you drive down Gunshot Creek????????????????? Here is a pic of my cruiser just before dropping into Gunshot

Just had a look at the pics mate. Congratulations to you and Heidi for having the guts to give it ago. I take my hat off to her as there are not too many girls that would give it a go. I had a look at the Chicken Run but didnt like the look of the mud hole at the bottom due to all the logs in it (probably left by you guys) so I did Toyota Alley. However when I did it I had a camper on the back which made it a bit more interesting. And Yeah you are right its just a 2 tonne free fall after you go over the top.
