Has anyone explored the opportunities available with House Sitting or House Swap?

A great way to see the country (and overseas). Stay in someones home and care for it while being immersed in the local community or city.

There is nothing like being in a home and living the life of a 'local'. Many places can accommodate several people.
My friend has done this overseas and it was fantastic, he said he got to experience the real Bali and house sat for 3 months in total.
