Hi Everyone,

My name is Juli, Hubby is Q and we have six kids, we live in Townsville. We recently went on our second family camping trip at lake Tinaroo and they have fallen in love with camping. So I have been traversing the net for like minded souls so that I can learn more about this great sport with my family.
Maybe I can help you to if you have any questions about the local area as I grew up all over North Queensland, travelling and camping with my parents.

Hey Juli welcome aboard the site. I am just down the road in Ayr and have just finished a 2wk trip to the tip and back.

Thanks Ken, I bet that was lovely going up there and back. Any good spots for the family on the way? We are aware of most on the way to Innisfail but after that most of my childhood memories involve the tablelands and cardstone. Thanks for the welcome.

Hey Juli, yes it was a great trip. We left Ayr and caught up with friends in Townsville then headed up to Lakeland Downs and along the Peninsular Development Road. We took the Overland Telegraph Line track for the majority of the trip up. There are some really great camping spots and swimming holes to stay at. We were on the road for 2 weeks which was not really long enough for the trip.

Oh Ken, that sounds great, If I could I would ditch the family and camp forever, lol. We had five days in Tinaroo and I can tell you, all of us were sad to leave it. I love camping and I am so glad my family liked it too.

I so have to do you trip but I will make sure I have more then two weeks before I do it.
